This is part one of my crazy 2015 road trip. I’m hoping these will start to become an annual thing. So starting out I flew to Vegas then rented a car and drove about 9 hours to Moab which is close to the Utah and Colorado border. Here I spent a couple of nights in town exploring Arches National Park. This place is amazing. Different from anything I have ever seen before. From sunrise to sunset I spent the day hiking in the desert and capturing some great photos. In the morning I saw most of the more popular locations like delicate arch and balancing rock. Lots of people out on the trails. It was a little cooler this time of year, but still hotter than I’m used to, so I paced myself. There were some moments when I was able to escape the tourists and do some solo adventures. Such a contrast to the busy city. When I was alone, I was really alone. So quiet, not even the familiar sound of bugs buzzing in the distance like back home. It was very peaceful. I think I covered most of the sights, but wish I had more time. There’s always more to see. Unfortunately it was cloudy at night, which made for some dramatic black and white shots, but I really wanted to try out some star trails or galaxy shots. Arches is known for being a great place place for this type of photography. Anyway maybe one day. Enjoy.
